International Day Celebration at the Elementary Campus

On March 4th we enjoyed the first full International Day after two and half years of not celebrating this special occasion because of Covid 19. 47 countries took part in the parade of nations. Over 20 stalls took over the covered court with amazing decorations, artifacts and edible treats! There was a great display of the work of female environmental activists from around the world and in the MPH students learned more about these activists through the video presentations. We were also honored to receive a special video made for IST from Her Excellency, the Tanzanian President, Mama Samia Suluhu Hassan. Three of our students wrote and asked her three questions about the environment which she kindly answered in her video. It was a remarkable event to celebrate diversity.

Here are some of the comments from Parents who participated in the event;

“Everyone came together and it was one big team and the diversity became as one” Chandni - Tanzania

"So many children enjoyed international day. It was a nice feeling all around. Everyone coming together to celebrate this day " Sameera and Farha - Belgium

"We have food from more than seven nations, children get passport whenever they visit a country stall. They show their passport which has a QR code which can get scanned and an environmentalist will talk about the weather in that particular country" Declan (Ireland)
